Robert regularly briefs policymakers, business leaders, and civic organizations throughout the western United States and provides economic analysis for print, radio, and television. He is known for making complex economic trends clear, practical, and easy to understand.
Presentation Title:Making Sense of a Puzzling Economy
Session Overview: Today's economy is sending mixed signals, and many of the usual rules don't seem to apply. Robert unpacks the puzzling picture of why the economy has proven more resilient than expected, where the real pressure points lie, and what could tip the balance in the year ahead. Robert offers practical guidance and a clear, candid outlook for making decisions and finding opportunity in an uncertain environment.
Luncheon Keynote: Andy Cindrich, FranklinCovey
Speaker Bio: Andy Cindrich has worked with FranklinCovey since 1999, helping teams and individuals improve performance and achieve measurable results. His experience as a business owner, investor, board member, educator, and community volunteer gives him a unique perspective on leadership and organizational growth. Throughout his career, Andy has helped clients improve everything from employee engagement and sales growth to customer experience, cycle times, and significant cost savings.
Presentation Title: Help Your Organization Turn AI Investment Into Performance – Lead Differently
Session Overview: Why can two companies invest in the same AI tools and experience completely different results? As access to AI technology becomes increasingly widespread, the differentiator is no longer simply the platform or strategy—it’s how effectively an organization’s people and leaders put that technology to work. Andy will explore how leadership shapes what AI amplifies within an organization. Strong leadership can use AI to accelerate performance, while unclear leadership and processes can just as easily accelerate confusion. Attendees will learn how to navigate AI adoption, overcome resistance, reshape workflows, and help employees embrace new ways of working.
Discussion Topics Include:
- Employee and leader engagement: What’s working—and what isn’t—within AI pilots and learning programs
- AI adoption: The key behaviors and mindsets that help teams successfully embrace AI
- Leading through change: How leaders can help employees adapt as roles, processes, and expectations evolve
- Practical next steps: Actions HR, Talent, and L&D teams can take to support AI-driven change
- Turning investment into performance: How organizations can move beyond simply adopting AI tools and begin realizing measurable value
Key Takeaway: AI alone doesn’t transform an organization—people do. Attendees will leave with practical insights for helping leaders and teams turn AI investment into stronger organizational performance.
Closing Keynote: Madeleine Jones, The Dignity Index
Speaker Bio: Madeleine Jones is a Program Associate and Trainer with Dignity.us, an initiative of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah. She leads Dignity.us’s higher education work and supports corporate trainings and community initiatives. She first joined the Dignity Index during its 2022 pilot at the University of Utah, where the project’s impact inspired her to co-found a student initiative and develop a passion for bringing dignity to campus dialogue. Madeleine holds a multidisciplinary background in political science, psychology, and sociology from the University of Utah.
Today, Madeleine helps organizations and communities build cultures where people can navigate differences with greater understanding and respect. Through trainings and conversations centered on the Dignity Index, she equips leaders with practical tools to strengthen workplace culture, foster productive dialogue, and lead in ways that affirm the inherent worth of every person.
Presentation Title: The Dignity Index
Session Overview: As organizations and communities navigate increasing polarization, dignity offers a practical foundation for more constructive leadership and dialogue. This keynote introduces the Dignity Index, an eight-point scale that distinguishes language rooted in contempt from language that affirms the inherent worth of others. Drawing on insights from public life, workplaces, and everyday conversations, attendees will explore how contempt escalates conflict and undermines collaboration, while dignity can create the conditions for stronger leadership, healthier workplace culture, and more productive dialogue across differences.
